My Travel Plans for 2016

2016 is shaping up to be an amazing year of travel for me. This will be my first full year dedicated to credit card strategy and possibly obtaining elite status with Delta Airlines. If you take a look at my photos you can see that I've already notched one trip under my belt this year. My girlfriend's family was kind enough to take me to Orlando, Florida with them for a couple days at the beginning of January. I have not been to Orlando since I was probably seven years old. Back then I was too small to ride any of the roller coasters, so this was almost a redemption tour for me back to Universal Studios.

The rest of 2016 is going to look something like this

  • Paris, France February 18-22
  • Los Angeles, California April 14-18
  • Beijing, China November
  • Tokyo, Japan November

I was able to book my Paris flights thanks to an amazing sale on Flying Blue last December. I will write a post specifically about how I booked those award tickets in greater detail very soon. Once I'm back from Paris, I'll have a little over a month to recoup some of my funds before its back in the air again to Los Angles. After landing in LAX, I'll be hitting the road to Indio, California for the famed Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

I'll probably spend the majority of the summer keeping my eyes out for great airfare deals to see if I can't land another stellar award ticket. In the meantime I'm already planning a 10 day trip across the pacific to Beijing, China and Tokyo, Japan. My girlfriend and I are currently laying out a credit card strategy to fly in Cathay Pacific business class for at least one leg of the trip. Once again I'll be writing a post in greater detail about that plan as well.

So that pretty much sums things up for 2016. As I mentioned above, I'm always on the lookout for great deals and I'm sure I will add a few more itineraries before the year is done.
