My 2017 Credit Card Strategy

My credit card strategy this year has kind of been all over the board. For no particular reason I've been on a American Express Membership Rewards kick. In November I signed up for The Business Gold Rewards Card and I added the Blue For Business Credit Card to my collection just a couple of weeks ago. The Business Gold Rewards Card is currently offering an increased sign up bonus of 50,000 points and the Blue For Business Credit Card is offering 10,000 points after your first purchase and 10X points on dining out. I think they're both can't miss offers.

I'll more than likely try to redeem these points for Lufthansa first class via Air Canda's Aero Plan rewards program. At this point nothing is set in stone, but that's my plan going forward.

I think at some point I'm going to commit to the American Express Platinum card too. It has a ton of perks, but I just have the hardest time pulling the trigger on a card with a $450 annual fee.

The funny thing is every time I speculate what I'm going to do, things always end up changing. Last year I was making a heavy push for Delta Skymiles so I could go to China and Hong Kong, but ended up redeeming those for a trip to Sydney, Australia.

All-In-All

As of right now this is my plan. Flying Lufthansa first class would be a dream come true for me, but I'm not going to put all of my eggs in one basket. The best part about American Express Membership Rewards is that they're transferrable so my options are always open.
