Why I Like This Card
I always find myself referring people to the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. Not only does it represent a great value now, it's especially valuable to those of you new to collecting miles and points. Chase's "5/24 Rule" won't allow you to be approved for any of their cards if you've applied for more than 5 in the past 24 months. Unfortunately I'll be out of the running for a Chase card for awhile...
Chase's Ultimate Rewards program is also unique because it has two domestic transfer partners.
You can transfer Ultimate Reward points at a 1:1 ratio to both United MileagePlus and Southwest Rapid Rewards. If you signed up for the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Premier Card or United MilagePlus Explorer Card you could combine the two sign-up bonuses for even more value! Chase points also transfer to all the major hotel brands too. I usually don't recommend transferring points to hotels, but if you're close to an award stay it could be an easy way to top up your account.
Chase Ultimate Reward points are some of the most valuable in the industry. If you haven't signed up for any credit cards I'd highly recommend making the Chase Sapphire Preferred Credit Card your first one.
