The best part about the Virgin Atlantic World Elite MasterCard are the 20,000 miles you receive after your first retail purchase. You can literally go to your local gas station, buy a pack of gum and BOOM, you've got 20,000 miles. There is also a $90 annual fee that isn't waived for the first year, so in total you're basically paying $90 for 20,000 miles. At that rate you're getting each mile for less than 1 cent, which is a fantastic deal.
While the majority of us won't come close to earning 90,000 miles with the Virgin Atlantic World Elite MasterCard, I still think it's worth getting for just one purchase.
If you take a look at Virgin Atlantic's award chart, you can see that 20,000 miles is more than enough to fly one way between a handful of US cities and the UK.
The only downside about flying to the UK is the carrier imposed surcharges. Even when redeeming miles, most airlines still charge you for taxes, fees, and surcharges. Unfortunately, that tacks on $134, but you would've had to pay that on top of a normal ticket cost anyways.
If you're looking to head to London or anywhere else in the UK this summer you may want to consider signing up for the Virgin Atlantic World Elite MasterCard.
Who else is taking advantage of this great offer?
