I'm going to be taking my brother Adam to Toronto in a few weeks for his college graduation present. We're going to spend four nights there, so I'd originally booked us a room at the Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel. It's not the most aspirational property so I've been keeping an eye out for a better deal as our trip draws near.
Then last week, I was on American Express' Fine Hotels & Resorts page and saw a great deal at the Shangri-La Toronto. Bookings through Amex's Fine Hotels & Resorts program are eligible for a room upgrade, 12:00 p.m. check-in, free breakfast for two each morning, 4:00 p.m. check-out, and $100 food and beverage credit. The Shangri-La was also offering a fourth night free so it was only going to cost me an extra $150 to upgrade from the Marriott to the Shangri-La. That's a no-brainer folks!
Like I've said in the past, if you've stayed at one Marriott you've stayed at them all. I've read a handful of reviews on Trip Advisor and Flyertalk and it seems like the Shangri-La is arguably the nicest hotel in Toronto. It'll be nice to show Adam what a true luxury hotel is all about.
I'm really excited for my stay at the Shangri-La Toronto! You can truly get some GREAT deals through Amex's Fine Hotels and Resorts program. I hope the Shangri-La brand can live up to the hype.
Have you stayed at a Shangri-La? Which property is your favorite?
