Winner winner chicken dinner! That's right folks, after an entire year it looks like I was finally approved for the CitiBusiness/AAdvantage Platinum Select World Mastercard.
If you weren't aware, I'd applied for this card in March of last year and was denied. At the time I was pretty heated and wrote this post detailing the events. I probably need to take back what I said about never doing business with Citi again...
Anyways, I'm really happy that I finally got approved and even happier that it has an increased 70,000 point sign-up bonus. Some of the card's other perks include:
- $95 annual fee waived for the first 12 months
- No foreign transaction fees
- First checked bag free
- Preferred boarding
- 2X points on purchases with American Airlines
- 1X points on all other purchases
I don't really have any plans for the miles yet, but American Airlines' AAdvantage program has some great partner redemption rates. Who knows, maybe I'll even try to fly in Etihad's first class apartments again.
Redemption sure is sweet. I know I've bashed Citi in the past, but I'm really glad they finally approved me for the CitiBusiness/AAdvantage Platinum Select World Mastercard. It's time to start searching award space and see what I can do with 70,000 new AAdvantage miles.
Has anyone else applied for the increased sign-up bonus? Were you approved?
