Rocky Mountain High
We rented our ATV's through Fun For You Rentals based in Frisco, Colorado. When we arrived, they had the trucks and trailers loaded up and ready for us to take.
Their office staff was running a bit behind schedule that day, but other than that things went smoothly. I know their website says they provide helmets and goggles, but in my experience we didn't receive goggles. I'd make sure to bring your own eye protection just in case.
During our ATV excursion, I figured there would be a guide or someone riding with us making sure things went well. Nope, nothing of the sort. Fun For You Rentals offers "unguided" tours of the Colorado wilderness. You load up with their equipment and their only parting words are "See you guys in four hours! Would you like a map?" Their business model is EXTREMELY trusting: give customers thousands of dollars of equipment and send them on their way...but it must work for them!
We rode the trails from Breckenridge, Colorado up to the Georgia Pass. The Georgia Pass sits at an elevation of roughly 11,598 ft. and boasts great views of the surrounding mountains.
We got a cool video while driving around the Georgia Pass:
While we were taking pictures and enjoying the scenery, one of our Polaris Razors broke down and wouldn't shift into gear. We left it for Fun For You Rentals to come fix and take back, but unfortunately it left Elizabeth and I riding on the back of the four wheelers the rest of the way.
On our way down we had some fun in the mud and by the time it was all said and done we were covered in dirt.
Riding ATVs through the Rockies was, hands down, one of the coolest things I've ever done. If you ever get the chance to do so, I highly recommend you take it! I would also recommend using Fun For You Rentals. They give you all the equipment you need and let you make your own adventure!
Who else wants to ride ATVs through the Rocky Mountains?
