My Experience Getting Bumped on Delta Airlines

My Experience Getting Bumped on Delta Airlines

My brother, Adam, and I just finished up our trip to Toronto, Canada last weekend. We both had great time and I was really impressed with Toronto, but I'll have more on that later. On Tuesday we were scheduled to fly home from Toronto (YYZ) to Omaha (OMA) via Detroit (DTW). We had a relatively short connection in Detroit and arrived at our gate right as our flight was scheduled to begin boarding. We weren't even there two minutes when the gate agent announced that our flight was oversold and they needed two volunteers to take a later flight.

Review: Delta Economy A350 Beijing to Detroit

Review: Delta Economy A350 Beijing to Detroit

Since I just reviewed my Detroit (DTW) to Beijing (PEK) flight a couple of weeks ago, I'm going keep this one pretty concise.  First and foremost, If you've never flown through Beijing before, or China for that matter, I'd suggest getting to the airport EXTRA early. If you think the TSA is bad just wait until you try and get through their security cluster.

Review: Delta Economy A350 Detroit to Beijing

I started planning my trip to Beijing when I saw some great Delta economy fares on their brand new A350. Round trip prices from Omaha (OMA) to Beijing (PEK), with one stop in Detroit (DTW), we're starting at $652. I managed to lower my final out of pocket expense to $577 per ticket with the help of a couple Delta gift cards. I'd say that's one hell of a deal considering I just paid $486 to fly to Fort Meyers, Florida this weekend...

2018 Travel Plans: Beijing, China

China has been at the top of my "Bucket List" for awhile. I tentatively planned to visit in 2016, but things fell through and I ended up going to Sydney, Australia instead. Well, I've finally made good on my promise to get back. Elizabeth and I are all booked to go to Beijing in April!

Review: Delta One 767 Minneapolis to London Heathrow

This was the first leg of Elizabeth and I's trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Since Delta doesn't fly to Dubai we had to make a connection in London before continuing on their partner, Virgin Atlantic. Our outbound itinerary ended up looking like this: OMA-MSP-LHR-DXB. I booked this all on one ticket for 85,000 Skymiles and $47.30 per person.

Review: Delta First Class (Domestic) 757 Minneapolis to Los Angeles

Review: Delta First Class (Domestic) 757 Minneapolis to Los Angeles

Normally I don’t fly domestic first class due to the outrageous prices and pretty lackluster products. In this case I’d already booked my award ticket from Los Anglese (LAX) to Sydney (SYD), but I still needed one more positioning flight to get from Omaha (OMA) to LA. One-way fares from Omaha were relatively cheap if we connected in Minneapolis. Since this was the only ticket I was paying for out of pocket I decided to splurge.
