Last year was my first time attending the world renowned Coachella Valley Music and Art Festival. It was unlike anything I'd ever experienced.
I'm excited to get back to the desert this spring and enjoy one of the best music festivals in the world. Here are my thoughts on the lineups each day:
I haven't really listened to any Radiohead so I can't say I'm overly excited to see them headline. I'm going to try and listen to them before I go, but more than likely I wont see much of their set. From an EDM standpoint I can't wait to see Dillon Francis! I think he could be the best set of the day. I'm really intrigued by Mac Miller. I love Mac Miller's old stuff, but he's fallen off in recent years so we'll what he brings to the table. Some of the lesser known bands that I'd like to check out are Capital Cities, Broods, and Francis and the Lights.
I believe Beyonce dropping out was almost a blessing in disguise. I'm not Beyonce's biggest fan so I'm actually excited to see they replaced her with Lady GaGa. The rap selection on day two will be fantastic. I'd like to catch a glimpse of Future, ScHoolboy Q, Gucci Mane, and Tory Lanez but we'll see what the schedule looks like. Martin Garrix will obviously take the roof of whatever venue he performs at. I think the most underrated set of day two will be Bastille. I've heard some of their new music and I've always loved Pompeii.
KENDRICK LAMAR. Good Kid M.A.A.D City is still one of the best albums I've ever heard. I can't wait for him to drop "YAWK, YAWK, YAWK, YAWK! Man down!" As the kids say these days, it's going to be "Lit." My EDM dreams are also going to come to life when I get to see Galantis for the first time. I just want to hear Gold Dust as the sun sets over the California mountains. Is that too much to ask? I think my underdog for day three is going to be Tove Lo. She's got a few big hits I really enjoy
I'm stoked to get back to Coachella! I think my second trip is going to be even better than the first.
Who else is going to Coachella this year?
