Why I Signed up for the IHG Rewards Club Card and So Should You

I got my IHG Rewards Club Card just in the knick of time! I can use it to purchase my stay at the InterContinental Kansas City next weekend (5X points at IHG Properties) and I can redeem the sign up bonus for a couple of nights when I go to Australia in December.

The IHG Card has some great perks and I plan on keeping this card long term. The card's best perk is the free anniversary night, hands down. Every year you have the card you get a certificate for free stay at any IHG property in the WORLD! All of a sudden that $49 annual fee (waived the first year) turns into money well spent.

The current sign up bonus is 60,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 in the first three months. For most people that's an easy threshold to hit. With free nights starting at 15,000 points (depending on the property) you could really milk a lot of value out of that 60,000. Me? I plan on blowing it on one night at the InterContinental Sydney. Luckily I got Elizabeth to sign up too so we'll spend a total of two nights there.

I've never actually stayed at any InterContinental properties before, so I'm pretty excited to see what they have to offer. I plan on reviewing both Hotels so you guys can get a more in depth look into each property.

All-In-All

I've laid out the facts for you and this card is a STEAL! In the grand scheme of things you're basically paying $49 to stay anywhere in the world once a year, to me that's worth every penny.
