Southwest Airlines offers the most non stop flights of any airline out of Omaha. This makes the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Premier Card extremely valuable for those of us flying out of Eppley Airfield (OMA). The Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Premier Card is currently offering a 25,000 point sign-up bonus after spending $1,000 in the first three months. There is a $99 annual fee, but I believe the benefits more than offset the fee. Now lets take a closer look at why the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Premier Card presents a great value for those of us flying out of Omaha.
Southwest Airlines does a great job of connecting Omaha to a variety of destinations across the country. Southwest currently offers non stop service from Omaha to:
- Chicago, Illinois (MDW)
- Denver, Colorado (DEN)
- Dallas, Texas (DAL)
- Los Angeles, California (LAX)
- Las Vegas, Nevada (LAS)
- Orlando, Florida (MC0)
- Phoenix, Arizona (PHX)
- Saint Louis, Missouri (STL)
- Washington, D.C. (DCA)
Low Minimum Spend Requirement
I believe minimum spend requirements tend to make people shy away from reward credit cards. The Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Premier Card only requires you spend $1,000 in the first three months, that's only $334 a month!
Increased Sign-Up Bonus
The sign-up bonus is currently 25,000 Rapid Rewards Points, but every year Southwest Airlines offers an increased sign-up bonus of 50,000 points. I don't know when this offer will go into effect, or how long it will last, but I'll make sure to update you when it does. But for the time being, 25,000 points is still potentially worth $424.
Cheap Award Tickets
Once you've received your (hopefully increased) sign-up bonus, Southwest makes it extremely easy to book award tickets using your points. You just search for the flight you want and then you can toggle between points and cash.
